My Fenway Park Replica Project!

FENWAY PARK

Arguably the most famous ballpark in the world, and home to the Boston Red Sox. Built in the early 1900's, Fenway Park has withstood fires, New England weather, and crazy Yankee "fans." Being one of the smallest MLB ballparks, it has the greatest atmosphere of all the ballparks in the Big Leagues. If the name "Fenway Park" isn't already well known, the ballpark also includes the most famous wall in the world, behind the Great Wall of China, the Green Monster! Standing at a monumental 37 feet, it holds by far the most history, along with the best seats, in Fenway Park. Housing the greatest, most loyal fans in the game, Fenway Park is the real Cathedral of baseball.

These, along with other features, drove me to replicate Fenway Park!

Facts/Features:
  • 20"long x 12"wide x 3.5" high
  • 1.5 months to complete
  • Hand-made with balsa and modeling wood
  • Completely hand-painted
  • Actual "glass" (clear plastic) used for windows in Press Box
  • Actual advertisements at ballpark are replicated in the scale model
  • Everything from the "Lone Red Seat," to the foul poles is replicated to scale
  • The "Fenway Green" color was manually mixed to replicate the exact color of Fenway Park
  • Replica is glued onto a 26" x 14" x 1/2" piece of wood (previously a wood shelf)

Pictures:

The beginings of my Fenway Park replica. I printed out the seating chart of Fenway Park, and used it as a layout to begin the ballpark

This is a picture of my progressions. I added the lower level seats, mid-level seats, and right-outfield seats.

The "Lone Red Seat" in the right field bleachers. (Lone Red Seat- represents the longest home-run hit at Fenway park, by Ted Williams, which officially measures 502 feet, and would have flown 520-535 feet if the right field bleachers were not there.)

View from top of each level of seats (Top left to bottom right- lower & mid level seats; lower level balcony; top level balcony; Press Box; side press box seats; side press box seats w/ roof)

Same as previous group of pictures, but front view.
